Ron Smith, MPT

Board Certified Physical Therapist

Ron is a Board Certified Physical Therapist. He obtained his Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology from California State University of Sacramento and then went on to achieve his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from the same institution. He specializes in orthopedic Physical Therapy with an emphasis on post surgical rehabilitation. His professional strengths include manual therapy, sports orthopedics, various joint dysfunctions, pain management and therapeutic exercise.

Our mission is to help our patients reach their rehabilitation goals through skilled physical therapy care and specialized exercise programs.  Treatments are customized based on patient lifestyle goals, which may be a return to sports, work or relief from pain.

We are committed to quality care.  All patients receive one on one care from an experienced and licensed physical therapist.  Our clinical set-up is unique in that physical therapy services are provided in the same office as our orthopedic MDs.  Communication between patient, physician and therapist is frequent and invaluable.  Some of the orthopedic ailments commonly treated are:

  • Neck and back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Shoulder and arm pain
  • Wrist and hand pain
  • Joint replacements
  • Hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain
  • Fractures

Surgical and non-surgical patients are routinely seen.  Emphasis is placed on fast and complete recovery.  Exercise programs are developed based on patients’ individual strengths and weaknesses, thus allowing the maximum benefit for the effort provided.  Patient feedback is encouraged and expected.  All patients are educated on their diagnosis and treatments received.  Throughout the rehabilitation process patients will experience a greater understanding of their injuries and their bodies in general. Patients with a thorough grasp on their orthopedic conditions tend to get well faster and are less prone to re-injury.
