
Roy M. Rubin, MD
Roy M. Rubin is Board Certified and an active fellow of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and prides himself on technical excellence and compassion for his patients. Dr. Rubin treats a broad range of problems affecting children and adults, including knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, hand, foot, ankle, wrist, and back and neck problems. He is known for his attention to detail, surgical skill and thorough explanation of conditions and treatments so that the patients and family members are comfortable with the plan.
Dr. Rubin is a native of Northern California. He graduated from Woodland High School and then attended Princeton University, where he earned a bachelor of science in mechanical and aerospace engineering. He then spent two years as a professional athlete before attending Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. In medical school he was elected to the prestigious alpha omega alpha honor medical society. He then went on to do a surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. After Dr. Rubin finished his chief residency, he then went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at University of California at Davis Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Children in Sacramento, CA. Dr. Rubin also completed a spine surgery fellowship in Sacramento, CA.
Dr. Rubin is known for performing intricate surgeries. Many patients with difficult orthopedic problems are referred to Dr. Rubin by other orthopedic surgeons. Throughout his career, he has been known to take on extremely challenging cases.
Dr. Rubin is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the California Orthopaedic Association. His experience enables Rubin Orthopedics to provide a complete spectrum of service which includes adult, adolescent, and pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine and physical therapy all in one location.
As a former professional athlete who grew up playing competitive sports, Dr.Rubin understands the importance of returning to activity for those who play competitive and recreational sports.
Dr. Rubin is married and he and his wife have three children. Dr. Rubin’s enjoys spending quality time with his family.
