Dr. Schwartz is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is a highly trained Orthopedic Surgeon who treats a broad range of cases from pediatrics to adult general surgeries to spine cases. Dr. Schwartz is the founding member of the American Board of Neuro-rehabilitation and has certifications for Spine Surgery Second Opinion in the state of California as well as the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance.
Dr. Schwartz has been practicing Orthopedic Surgery for 32 years and prides himself on patient care. He demonstrated this as the former lead surgeon for 10 years at Daniel Freeman Hospital in Los Angeles, California for Orthopedic Rehabilitation. For the past 5 years Dr. Schwartz has been and currently is part of a select panel of doctors for Blue Cross of California as an Orthopedic Peer Reviewer in their Worker’s Comp Division.
He has worked with companies such as American and United Airlines as their senior Orthopedic and Spine consultant as well as Robinson’s – May Department Stores as their Orthopedic consultant. Dr. Schwartz has most recently become an instructor in Contra Costa County for the family practice residency program, teaching students, interns and residents who will be moving forward as doctors in primary care.
Dr. Schwartz completed his undergraduate work at the University of Southern California, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology. He finished his Post Graduate degree at Baylor University, earning Cum Laude honors for his Master of Science degree. Dr. Schwartz completed his medical education at the University of Southern California and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency as the Chief Resident at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Schwartz has a wife and three daughters. His hobbies include gardening, reading, cooking and exercise.
